Volunteer
Volunteers must be able to handle the physical and emotional stress of working at the animal shelter and care deeply about animal welfare.
Adults between the ages of 18 and 80 must complete an application.
Junior Volunteers between the ages of 13 and 17 must complete an application and have a parent(s) or guardian(s) signature.
We would love your help and so would our animals! Here are some things you can do to help:
- Shelter Volunteer: Assist the regular staff with daily cleaning and care of the animals. Washing pans, scrubbing cages, brushing animals, cleaning litter boxes, etc.
- Dog Walker: Exercise and provide individual attention to our dogs. Must be able to handle a medium to large size dog.
- Cat "Cuddler": Socialize and provide individual attention to our cats living in the cat room. Must have some knowledge about cats and their behavior.
- Office Assistant: Provide assistance to our office. Duties may include providing information on adoption, answering the telephone, filing and other administrative duties.
- In the Community: Visit Nursing Homes, Foster Animals, Help with Special Events, Assist with School Visits, Assist with Aluminum Can Project, Photographer.
